Review: Perfectly Posh

Hello everyone!

I have a different type of post for you today.

Months ago I messaged Jessica Peryea through a promotion on the Perfectly Posh'd page, and she was kind enough to send me a packet of free samples!

As you can see, it's quite a lot of stuff! So it's taken me a while to work my way through all of the samples, trying them out, in order to put together this review.

Before I get into the actual review, though. a few comments.

Perfectly Posh'd. If you're unfamiliar with them, they're a beauty products company whose model is based on creating products from natural sources. They are a small, independent start-up, and Jessica Peryea is one of their independent consultants.

I personally love indie brands and independent, small companies. And Perfectly Posh did not disappoint!

1. Big Fat Yummy Hand Creme in The "It" Girl

I absolutely love this hand creme. It absorbs into skin very quickly, and leaves hands feeling moisturized, but not oily. In under a minute, you can go ahead and sit back down with your laptop or tablet without worrying about making your keys or screen any greasier than your fingers would normally. It also has a lovely faint pomegranate-y smell that isn't overpowering. (Seriously, if a dessert/candy smelled like this, I would definitely try it. I think the absolutely delicious smell is the reason it's called "yummy".) It is an opaque, white cream. You should know, just so you aren't surprised, that as it starts to moisturize and be absorbed by your skin, it does make skin feel somewhat sticky, but his sensation lasts 10 seconds, at most. I am very, very pleased with this product, and would love to purchase a full-sized version.

2. Best Face Forever Exfoliating Daily Facewash

This products contains biodegradable microbeads, and smells of eucalyptus and honey. It smells lovely, and leaves skin feeling very refreshed. It's a light yellow color, and the microbeads are small enough that they're not really noticeable at first glance, but you can definitely feel them on skin. The cream is a light yellow, somewhat see-through. Honestly, I have a highly positive impression of this product. It smells wonderful, and leaves skin feeling refreshed and clean, while also not being harmful to the environment! Also, after having used it for ~2 weeks, it seems like my skin quality has improved. It's possible there are other factors at play, of course, but I have faith that this products is at least partly to thank!

3. End Mend Split End-Fusing Fix Spritz

A thin opaque white liquid (too runny to really photograph well), this product is intended to seal together split ends. It can be applied to wet or dry hair, and is best when sealed in with heat, as from a hair dryer or straightener, etc. I used it with a hair dryer on wet hair. The product has a mild scent of vanilla, flowers, and peach. I couldn't really detect much change after only two uses, but it's quite possible it would be effective with long-term use.

4. In a New York Minute Natural, Effective Glycolic Fast Facial

[Ooops, I opened the sample before taking pictures. Sorry!]
So, I'm fairly neutral on this particular sample. It has a faint, plastic-y (?) smell, which is somewhat unpleasant. The directions say to leave on the face 1-5 minutes before rinsing, but it started to sting after about 3. After I washed it off my face was a little red, though that faded fairly quickly. I would also add that it did not leave my face feeling refreshed. However, it does work, and does so best when applied to clean, dry skin. The cream is a a very pale yellow, and opaque, but turns clear once it has been smoothed over skin, except where too thickly applied. If you rub at the "dry" cream on your face, it comes off easily, and you can clearly tell that it is revealing fresh skin beneath. All in all, this is certainly an interesting and useful product, but I personally do not plan to purchase a full-size version. My main complaint with it is really just that after cleansing or exfoliating, I like my skin to actually feel refreshed, and this product (while certainly doing its job) does not do that.

5. Bath Bar in Bless Your Heart

This soap was quite pleasant to use. It has a faint peachy scent, with perhaps a dash of vanilla (to my nose at least). The scent isn't overpowering, but it does have staying power. It froths easily, though the bubbles do not last very long. It was pleasant on my skin, and I liked it quite well. I might well purchase a full-size version someday.

6. Moisturize 911

I was very, very pleased with this. The opaque, white creme had a faint minty smell (with something else that I couldn't identify), which was was quite pleasant. My skin absorbed it right away, and it did not leave my hands feeling greasy or oily. In fact, they felt refreshed! Which for me, at least, is an entirely new feeling. I have not really encountered moisturizers that leave my skin feeling refreshed. I absolutely loved it!

And that's the review!

Overall, I have gained a very positive impression of Perfectly Posh. I'm looking forward to supporting them and buying some of their products. In particular, I'm almost certain I will be purchasing their hand cremes! And their exfoliator will probably be on my "purchase" list as well.
